Project Overview:
Monroe Avenue (S.T.H. 57) reconstruction was a high profile project for the City requiring substantial communication and coordination with City staff
Project Specifics:
- Engineering design in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and Federal Aid Guidelines
- Incorporation of Trans 75 (Complete Streets) guidelines to provide bike accommodations
- Complete reconstruction of the concrete pavement
- Storm water analysis and new storm sewer system
- Traffic analysis for the signalized corridor including the design of 5 signalized intersections
- Street lighting
- CSD items were incorporated, including colored concrete pavement
- Phase 1 and 2 Hazmat investigation identified 15 contaminated sites
- Design modifications to minimize impacts to 5 properties on or eligible for National Register
- Monroe Avenue is a pilot program project for the “Everyday Counts (EDC)” utility coordination initiative
