Project Overview:

Monroe Avenue (S.T.H. 57) reconstruction was a high profile project for the City requiring substantial communication and coordination with City staff

Project Specifics:

  • Engineering design in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and Federal Aid Guidelines
  • Incorporation of Trans 75 (Complete Streets) guidelines to provide bike accommodations
  • Complete reconstruction of the concrete pavement
  • Storm water analysis and new storm sewer system
  • Traffic analysis for the signalized corridor including the design of 5 signalized intersections
  • Street lighting
  • CSD items were incorporated, including colored concrete pavement
  • Phase 1 and 2 Hazmat investigation identified 15 contaminated sites
  • Design modifications to minimize impacts to 5 properties on or eligible for National Register
  • Monroe Avenue is a pilot program project for the “Everyday Counts (EDC)” utility coordination initiative
