Improvements to the Headworks portion of the WWTF included the replacement of the fine screens and upgrade of the grit removal system to include a dewatering step. The new systems were integrated into the existing plant SCADA System. Uninterrupted flow to the plant was maintained during the upgrade. Specialized building foundations were required due to high bedrock in some locations. The project incorporated owner-procurement of stainless steel screening and grit removal equipment allowing the Village to purchase the equipment they desired, at a cost savings.
