Project Overview:
The DNR Stewardship Grant program provides money to municipalities for the acquisition and improvement of public lands that are to be used for nature-based activities. For the development of a 1.5 acre stormwater pond, the Town of Neenah purchased a 12.5 acre parcel. The remaining 11 acres of property were not suitable for development, due to floodplains, wetlands, shallow bedrock and high groundwater. After studying the property, McMahon engineers suggested that the Town create a conservancy park on the remaining land. Since construction, McMahon environmental engineers have managed the vegetation growth of the park.
McMahon successfully guided the Town of Neenah through the complicated grant process, ensuring that all grant requirements and deadlines were met.
