Project Overview:

Since 2007, Central Brown County Water Authority (CBCWA) has purchased water from the City of Manitowoc and Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) and delivers that water, to roughly 75,000 users within the six member communities of City of DePere, Villages of Allouez, Bellevue and Howard, and Towns of Lawrence and Ledgeview.

To address several issues and shortfalls, design began on a central Central Storage Facility that would provide 11.75 million gallons of backup storage.

  • A 3.75 mg prestressed concrete standpipe tank, 80’ diameter, 100’ tall and wrapped with 295 miles of high tensile reinforcing wire will provide backup water to Ledgeview and Bellevue, since they are on top of the hill.
  • An 8.0 mg ground storage tank, 166’ diameter, 50’ tall and wrapped with 332 miles of wire will provide backup water to the remaining four member communities.
  • A booster pump station will also provide additional emergency supply to Ledgeview and Bellevue.
