Work on a new fire station is underway in Chilton, Wisconsin. On March 9, 2023, McMahon participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new 8,648-square-foot facility.

McMahon is providing full architectural, civil and structural engineering design services. McMahon will continue services into the construction phase of the project with Bayland Buildings as the general contractor.

The new facility replaces the original 1935 fire station wing of the current City Hall complex.

The new facility will provide additional vehicle space – an increase needed due to modern-day fire truck specifications and increased sizes. More room will also be added for non-vehicular firefighting equipment.

“Firefighting equipment, vehicles and training space needs have grown since 1935,” stated Mike Martin, architect at McMahon. “We are very happy to help the City and Fire Department continue to grow and provide important services to the community.”

The building will also feature improved HVAC systems, including vehicle exhaust removal, updated lighting and information technologies.

The project is scheduled to be completed by September 2023.
