Project Overview:
When First English Lutheran Congregation decided to upgrade and expand their education building and provide a home for the budding Arthur Krempin School of Music and Art, the challenge to McMahon was two-fold…provide the new space required to meet the expanded program requirements and upgrade the appearance of the existing 1958 education building and design the new addition to blend into the beautiful 1931 English Gothic Church building.
The enlarged and renovated education building provides a light filled gathering space, lounge, music studios, classrooms for an independent cooperative nursery school, youth room and Sunday School classrooms, many of which serve multiple functions.
The exterior combines many details from the original church detailing into the new façade along with the stone and half timber brick facing. New mechanical HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems including provisions for complete data distribution systems complete the project
