Project Overview:
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger relief organization in the state of Wisconsin with food banks located in Milwaukee and Little Chute.
In 2015, McMahon designed a new 41,000 SF building for Feeding America to use as a food bank. The facility receives and stores dry, fresh and frozen food from donors and then distributes the goods to food pantries in the northeast Wisconsin area.
The building has two wings…A 7,300 SF office wing houses staff who manages food and philanthropic donations, as well as works with food pantries. This wing also contains a teaching kitchen. Among the 32,000 SF warehouse wing components are shipping/receiving docks, coolers and freezers sized for forklifts, and “clean” sort rooms for separating bulk goods.
