McMahon is proud to be part of the transformation of the Neuschafer Public Library and Community Center in Fremont, Wisconsin.  

When complete, the Neuschafer Public Library and Community Center will be much more than a building. It will serve as an inclusive hub that welcomes people of all ages with a design that includes spaces carefully tailored to cater to the diverse needs of its patrons. From interactive learning areas for young readers to collaborative tech spaces for teens, quiet zones for adults and social gathering spaces for seniors, the library was designed carefully by McMahon to connect and inspire the community. 

The architectural vision for the library honors Fremont’s rich history and connection to the Wolf River. Inspired by the artistry of wooden boat frames and the natural curves of the river, the design showcases exposed wooden structural elements that create a welcoming, warm and tactile interior. These features elevate the aesthetic of the space and also serve as a link to the region’s fishing culture and community identity.  

A highlight of the Neuschafer Public Library and Community Center is its commitment to sustainability. Rooftop solar panels will be strategically oriented to capture optimal sunlight throughout the day which will produce a significant portion of the library’s energy requirements, reducing energy costs and delivering financial benefits to the community. By leveraging renewable energy, the library demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to sustainability, demonstrating a responsible and efficient use of resources.
