Project Overview:

A detailed evaluation of the existing plant led to the replacement the existing processes with new facilities on-site, incorporating the treatment process of enhanced lime softening for total organic carbon removal and hardness removal; dual media filtration; Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) contactors for biological removal of dissolved organic carbon and taste/odor control; and Ultraviolet (UV) light  disinfection.  A 9-month UV Pilot Study of alternate UV technologies preceded the design and specifying of the recommended system.

  • The site and design capacity of 12 MGD is expandable to 18 MGD, and to an ultimate capacity of 30 MGD.
  • The existing plant facilities were remodeled to provide a pretreatment basin, filter backwash water holding and treatment, and all administrative functions. The newly remodeled areas include a Laboratory and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant restrooms.
  • The entire treatment plant complex was constructed 2-feet above high groundwater level.
  • Precast insulated panels were chosen for the building exterior to reduce costs, while providing an aesthetically pleasing facility.
