The Clean Water Fund (CFW) & Safe Drinking Water (SDW) Programs provide financing to municipalities for water infrastructure projects. Available financing includes low interest loans, and in Wisconsin, ‘principal forgiveness” (grant) funding is also available for eligible communities. Examples of projects include wastewater treatment facility and collection system improvement/expansion projects, stormwater projects, drinking water system improvement/expansion projects, and pilot projects related to non-traditional wastewater projects, adaptive management and nutrient trading. October 31 is the deadline for submittal of the Intent to Apply (ITA) and Priority Evaluation & Ranking Formula (PERF) for Wisconsin communities to establish project eligibility in State Fiscal Year 2018 (July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018). These forms must be submitted on-line through the Wisconsin DNR Switchboard system.
