Project Overview:
As part of a ¾ mile street reconstruction project, The existing 40-year-old State Street concrete bridge was studied for rehabilitation. With adjacent industrial facilities and railroad clearances, reconfiguration of the roadway plan was not possible in this urbanized layout. McMahon designed a replacement concrete bridge deck in accordance with WisDOT guidelines matching the existing bridge foundation limits and updated roadway geometry, and reutilized the existing bridge abutments to reduce construction impacts. The new structure also supports existing water main pipe off side of the bridge.
