NEW BRIESS PLANT EXPANDS CAPACITY

CHILTON, WI — To help meet growing consumer demand for natural, healthy and gluten free foods, Briess Industries, Inc. has broken ground for a new grain processing plant at its Chilton, Wisconsin, campus.

The 6,900-square foot manufacturing facility will be the second of its kind operated by Briess. Like the original Insta Grains® Plant, which was commissioned in Chilton in 1990, the second Insta Grains® Plant will be equipped with custom, specialized equipment to naturally process grains and starches. The nutritious industrial ingredients produced by Briess are used to add flavor, color and texture to a wide variety of foods, beverages, pet foods and craft beer, and are shipped to manufacturers throughout the United States.

Company officials report they anticipate commissioning the plant in October 2016, and adding three full time positions.

Insta Grains® is a registered trademark owned by Briess Industries, Inc., d/b/a Briess Malt & Ingredients Co. In addition to its Insta Grains® plant, the company owns barley operations in Wyoming and Manitowoc, Wisconsin; operates three malthouses; and produces natural sweeteners for beer and food in a 500-barrel brewhouse/extraction plant. It is celebrating 140 years of Briess family ownership this year.
