McMahon has openings for Civil Engineering Internships for Summer 2027 in our Neenah, Wisconsin office.

Interns will be primarily working on-site for McMahon on one of our WisDOT construction administration projects or municipal construction projects.  In 2027 there is a need for interns on projects in Brown County and other locations TDB.  Job duties will include:

• Observing and documenting construction activities using WisDOT programs.
• Measuring and recording contract quantities.
• Assisting in preparation of contract estimates and other construction reports.
• Assisting with sampling and transporting materials for testing.
• Assisting with project close out documentation and reports.

Depending upon timing of WisDOT construction projects, interns may also gain experience on municipal construction projects or with municipal design projects. Job duties for municipal construction will include:

• Measuring and recording contract quantities.
• Daily construction reports, coordinated with the project manager.
• Assisting with project close out documentation and reports.
• Documenting and surveying new facilities.

There is also potential for an office focused internship for 2027.  A stronger understanding of Civil3D is beneficial for this position.  Job duties for that position will include:

• Assisting various lead designers with plan preparation.
• Civil3D drafting of plan details.
• Attend design meetings as required.
• Prepare cut sheets for municipal construction projects.
• Developing quantity estimates. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a Civil Engineering student or related field
• Valid driver’s license
• Good communication and note taking skills
• Motivated individual with a desire to further their career       

Preferred skills, but not mandatory:

• Knowledge of WisDOT specifications
• Knowledge of WisDOT programs (AASHTOWare, etc)
• Ability to decipher construction plans
• Civil3D capabilities
• HTCP certifications
