A detailed investigation and evaluation of the existing plant resulted in replacing the existing processes with new facilities on-site in a 3-phased program to be implemented over a 15-year time period.
The Phase One project consisted of new, deep bed dual media filters to replace the existing filters, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) contactors, Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, and new chemical feed / storage system for soda ash.
The Phase Two project replaced the existing surface water intake with a new Lake Winnebago intake / screening system.
The Phase Three project added a new pre-treatment basin, a new pre-treatment process, and replaced chemical feed and storage systems.
